Supplication is another short film that will surely play a positive one on lovers of Cameroonian productions. Reason – the cast and crew is one of the most envied in the industry. With Peter Njodzeka aka Penjo at the HD camera, the images are undoubtedly going to be impeccable. This is also because Timah Kingsley aka Fisher’s amazing make-up skills will add to the already available colour the artistic dispensation of the Supplication cast provides.
Perhaps, Azenwi Ngwinwi’s (costume designer) choice of costume for extra-ordinarily talented actors such as Libota McDonald, Nkwah Kingsley and Sende Bende will be the film’s point of attraction, summed up with Yibain Emile aka Ancestor’s soothing lighting. Edited on High Definition by dexterous Achille Brice, Supplication expects to reach out to those who are yet to embrace the power of prayers. In the story written by Takong Delvis, the author clearly points out that prayers are meant to be answered, reason why they exist at all. “But whose prayers are answered by God – Ray’s (protagonist) or the people around him?” Supplication answers the question and lots more. According to Takong who doubles as director of the short film, Supplication has sucked cash to the tune of 2.5 million FCFA from his production purse. “Much of this money footed the human resource build-up of the production,” he told TIPTOPSTARS. Takong revealed further: “We also spend a great deal on sophisticated equipment including an HD camera, dolly and strong lighting tools.” Takong plans to launch this maiden production at any given opportunity, but for now, the young director/producer is targeting film festivals to exhibit this well-packaged Cameroonian production. The Bamenda-based film maker intends to shoot feature films as well in future, but that will be when the author of Supplication would have assessed himself following his first attempt. With Elvis Tanwie aka Deddadies as the continuity artist, Supplication, a Tenning Nova Productions production is shot on locations in Bamenda. It also features budding actor T. Abongnwi alias Base. Watch out for the release soon!
