Quantitatively and qualitatively, Cameroon is fast growing in its movie production. After Berlin Icon (2005) and Two Brothers (coming soon), Trend International Productions is set to produce yet another hit movie. Shooting of Vanity Chase takes place in the coming days on locations in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde. “The script is ready and some actors have been studying it for quite some time now,” Terence Fomunung, producer of Vanity Chase told TIPTOPSTARS Wednesday 15 June 2011 in Yaounde. Fomunung who flew in from the UK a couple of months ago is author of Vanity Chase, the third story he is about to shoot. “Inspired by what I see happening around, I’m decrying the endless and tenacious quest for material and financial wealth through unorthodox means,” the script writer explained. “This material and money-mindedness would normally turn sour with retributive pains inflicted on insatiable wealth seekers,” Fomunung explained further. Starring in the 90-minutes entirely Cameroonian film is US-based Mairo Sanda who will be in her 4th set performance come Vanity Chase in Yaounde. Mairo is one of the leading Cameroonian actresses in the US. She began her acting career in 2008. Also starring will be Fotoh Marinus who is not only an old hand in the seventh art but has won scores of hearts especially after his charming performances in My Successor and Audacity of Love directed by Asaba Ferdinand (Penda) and screened on CRTV in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Meanwhile, producer Terence Fomunung will also be taking an acting role in Vanity Chase. Fomunung who also stars in Berlin Icon and Two Brothers hopes to put up yet another exciting show in third production which he will equally be directing. “At the camera, we shall have Penjo,” he announced, referring to Peter Njodzeka, CEO of Yaounde-based Penjo Entertainment Productions. Vanity Chase will be shot in 10 days, premiered as from October 2011 in the major cities in Cameroon, US, UK and Germany. The producer hopes to use the media and several online outfits to promote this must-watch movie. |
