“Daphne is a breath of fresh air, her voice is sultry and her vocals hug the music in an angelic way.” This declaration by Behyia Leonard, one of Cameroon’s finest radio entertainers and journalist summarizes the debutant, but promising singer. Apart from the famous radio personality who is Station Manager of CRTV’s FM 105 in Douala, other music lovers have summarily described Daphne as Cameroon’s newest gift to the world. According to the artist, Rastafari, a Stevens Music Entertainment (SME) production is a picture of a common destiny that is reached through several avenues. “Consequently, we should love one another, be each other’s keeper and the hope that we will all meet our goals at the end of the day,” Daphne explained in a pre-single release interview. With the Stevens Music Entertainment label, Daphne is bracing for a maiden album that will comprise songs clad in African traditional sounds, fashioned in a way that suits international taste. “That makes my music more universal than local though,” Daphne told the media. Rastafari which is being distributed via iTunes has an accompanying video coming up on August 4, 2014. “It tells a story of despair, hope and victory - one day you are down and the next day you are on up – and life goes as we keep on believing,” SME, in a release sent to our newsroom explained.
