That a Cameroonian model may become the next Miss Supranational International is not far-fetched. It suffices for her to emerge Miss Supranational Cameroon, then show the world what stuff she is made of come August 2010 in Poland. Registration of candidates for the Miss Supranational Cameroon has begun with hundreds of model expected to take part. According to organisers, MORA MODA and ISANGO (UK-based agencies that identify and promote talents), the event will take place in June. One, of out the candidates who would be contesting will be declared Miss Supranational Cameroon. The laureate will then bear her country's flag at the Miss Supranational International in Poland which will be organised in the form of a TV reality show - "The Sama Ndango Show". According to the CEO of MORA Marketing and ISANGO, Sama Ndango, Miss Supranational Cameroon is his own little way of bringing Cameroon to the limelight. In a recent chat with him in Yaounde, the celebrity talent coach told me its time to bring out the worth of Cameroon. "We're endowed with talents, yet unexplored and I think our youths need such opportunities to showcase themselves," he said. Ndango who flew back to the UK a couple of days ago has been explaining the Miss Supranational Cameroon concept via the media. At a press conference in Douala, the young Cameroon, resident in Europe for 15 years now, made public the programme for the event. It was revealed that on 25 May 2010, a team from MORA MODA will arrived in Cameroon for casting, auditioning and coaching of the beauty queens. The casting proper will take place from Monday 31 May to Wednesday 2 June. 20 candidates will be selected at the end of the exercise. From Friday 4 June to Friday 11 June, candidates will benefit from coaching sessions facilitated by "The Sama Ndango Show". On 16 June, memebers of jury of Miss Supranational Cameroon will arrive in Cameroon from the UK and Germany. This will be followed by the final of the contest on 18 June. The winner will be presented to the press on 19 June before the delegation leaves for Abuja on 24 June to supervise Miss Supranational Nigeria. On Sunday 27 June, the delegation will return to Cameroon to start preparing the trip for Miss Supranational Cameroon who would be representing her country at the Poland rendezvous. Miss Supranational International is among the world's five most prestigious beauty contests, according to World Beauty Organisation (WBO). It takes place every August with countries expected to send in one candidate each. Cameroon will be furnishing the contest with a candidate, thanks to MORA MODA Ltd. Handsome prizes will await winners in the various categories. According to the World Beauty Association presdident, Yandar Lobon Miss Supranantional International will bag home a sum of 25.000 Dollars. Her first runner-up will smile over a sum of 5.000 Dollars while the 2nd runner-up will receive 3.000 Dollars. The 3rd runner-up will return home 2.000 Dollars richer, while the 4th runner-up will be honoured with a sum of 1.000 Dollars. In addition to that, the five shall receive jewellry to the tune of 10.000 Dollars. Meanwhile, the various continental champions will be made 1.000 Dollars richer while the beauty queens in other inferior categories will smile over 5.00 Dollars each. Miss Supranational Cameroon comes at a time several young girls in the country have found a new passion in modelling and nurse dreams of getting higher heights. It is hoped that the contest has comer to stay. "Certainly, it is a no-turning-back initiative. Miss Supranational Cameroon is going to be an annual rendezvous," Ndango promised.
