Young Nathalie Bih is a conspicuous member of the Yaounde branch of the Cameroon Film Industry (CFI). She is an actress. Many within the group also know her as a model. At film launches, she would thrill guests with her spectacular catwalk. I vividly remember a beautiful show she put up in April 2008, at the premiere of Musing Derick's Cluster. It was simply great and many loved the show. One fine evening, as CFI Yaounde members met for a workshop, Nathalie unveiled her package. "I'll be contesting for Miss Cameroon Lux 2008," she announced. And added: "So, I'll like you all to chip in your support by voting for me." Folks were proud of her. "Ours is there, why won't we vote for her....you have our full support," the film stakeholders were unanimous. She explained that she had to begin from her Region of origin, the North West. Off, Nathalie went. A few days later, it was announced that she had emerged and was crowned Miss North West. That was "big news" for Yaounde. The reaction was great. The Yaounde-based ebony-like actress, tall, beautiful with a permanent smile that sparks, charmed the jury with her competence in delivery. Nathalie told the North West what she was going to mean to their socio-economic and cultural development. In both French and English, the beauty pungent promised folks she was going to promote the rich culture of the region and Cameroon in general, laying emphasis on our rising film industry. She won! When this reporter met her a couple of days ago, it was a happy Miss North West whose dream is to be the most beautiful girl in Cameroon come May this year. "I'm convinced victory will be mine," she said. "Cameroonians should count on me, accept me and vote for me," she went further. The Miss Cameroon Lux beauty contest is organised and run by COMICA and PROXIMITY
