The endless challenges faced by tenants (many of whom are financially unable to erect their own edifices) is one of the issues African filmmakers have addressed in their works, in a bid to prick the consciences of real estate shot callers. The at times, unruly attitude of landlords, apartment managers and other people directly or indirectly connected with managing tenants’ problems motivate filmmakers to present the situation on the screens, if at all it would mean a thing to the former. Blaise Christian Sitchet is one of those movie makers whose observation of greedy estate managers has been well enough to necessitate a representation of the said issue in the movies. His The Greedy Realtor is thus the catchy piece of cinematographic work that tells the ugly story of situation.
Shot in the USA, The Greedy Realtor is set to hit public space as from Saturday, August 2, 2014. “I can’t wait to watch this movie whose theme is of great concern to our community. I trust it will be as interesting as Sitchet’s other movies,” a Maryland-based African movie lover told TIPTOPSTARS at press time.
Within the Cameroonian film industry, anxiety has risen as producer Sitchet’s colleagues await The Greedy Realtor. “I can’t afford to meet the art of our own Blaise Christian Sitchet,” producer Benedette Keyi Jeff simply mentioned. “Lilian Ndi, producer of Sister Dearest and Akim Macauley, director of Ekei will be present at The Greedy Realtor premiere,” filmmaker Akim Macauley wrote, announcing their eminent presence at the movie premiere this Saturday.
All roads therefore lead to Baltimore from where The Greedy Realtor will officially see the light of light. Organizers say the event which is expected to be a crowd puller will take place at the Park School Theatre, 2425 Old Court RD, Baltimore, MD, 21208. The red carpet event begins at 6pm eastern time.
Produced by Prestige International Films Productions, The Greedy Realtor is directed by El Vis (VIS 3K), featuring Blaise Christian Sitchet, Clara Fernaldo, Wendy Bangura, Ralph Maunello, Denis Cheseldine, Benedette Key Irogho, Louiza Tatah, Ngando Black, Betsi Betselot, Crystal Beauty and others. The movie comes after Koming From Afrika by the same producer.
