The Cameroonian film industry will hardly forget November 2012. It has been a very eventful month. Apart from other entertainment rendezvous, movie premieres also made the month rich in events. After Akim Macauley’s Rage, produced by Kang Quintus and Trouble Kingdom, a Fred Kenyati and Mairo Sanda production directed by Neba Lawrence, here comes Dilemma. Dilemma, a short film shot earlier this year and produced by Jenet Agbor Manyi is scheduled for a crowd-puller premiere on November 30.
According to organizers of the film outing, the premiere for Dilemma will take place in Buea, at the famous Hotel Residence Carlos. “It’s going to be a popular event, so we expect Cameroonians and film lovers living around Buea to massively turn out and make it a date with us,” Agbor Jenet who doubles as TIPTOPSTARS’ latest correspondent in Sweden told this reporter.
Shot in Buea, headquarters of the South West region of Cameroon, the 26-minutes long film enlightens potential viewers and the general public on the dangers of HIV/AIDS, a pandemic that has gone beyond just a health problem and is now posing a big social threat. The producers hope that Dilemma will add to the several moves that have been programmed to effect bahaviour change vis-à-vis the pandemic. “That’s the reason we’re going to let organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS use the film as a tool for their sensitization campaigns,” Agbor explained.
Directed by Agbor Jenet, Dilemma, a Mix Film Productions movie stars Nchifor award-winning Nchifor Valery,Bareh Mildred, Samson Tarh, Minash Mum and Pamela Ndukong, introducing Lita Roger. It is edited by Otang Blaise with Mungwa Eric (also the script writer and editor) as production manager.
