One thing is clear – Cameroon now breeds more hyper talented music performers than one can imagine. Another thing – the country’s young people seem to possess the command baton in the art, making observers to conjecture a serious music revolution which may undoubtedly turn Cameroon into one of the world’s song havens. If such becomes the case, a good number of prominent singers would sure take the credit, including USA-based Naomi Achu.

There is nothing as noble as celebrating achievements. Gratification is one big thing in film making that inspire creativity and hard work. Good enough, young Cameroonians have accepted this fact and would not wait for others to hail them while they watch their drama unfold. To this effect, movie awards have been sprouting in the country at an interesting rate. Be there in Kumba, Buea, Yaounde, Bamenda and what have you, film promoters have been trying to share these joyous moments with those who make the ball roll.

For quite some time now, there has been an admirable committed effort by young Cameroonian film makers to improve the quality of film production in the country. This effort has been prominent in the area of scriptwriting, often said to be the core of the film making process. This positive spirit has undoubtedly attracted willing supporters of the film industry in Cameroon and at every moment the need has arisen, they have not failed to come on board. A recent example is the African Film Consortium, otherwise simply called AFC, organizer of a workshop on story directions and scriptwriting.

They may be far away from home, yet Cameroonians abroad are bent on staying closer by organizing events that put their country in the limelight. Some of such events have been awards that recognize their efforts in contributing enormously to the development of the Cameroonian entertainment industry from the diaspora. The latest of them, the Cameroon Diaspora Awards, CDA has just taken place the Dutch city of Rotterdam.
