There is a growing yet, soothing anxiety among Cameroonians in particular and lovers of culture in general as the city of Antwerpen braces to host the first ever final of Miss Cameroon Belgium. “The décor is set and we’re looking forward to November 3, 2012 to reveal the handsome end-of-year gift to our audience,” one of the organizers told TIPTOPSTARS in Belgium.

Due to hold at the sumptuous Wok Van Antwerpen Restaurant, situated at Carnostraat 123, 2060, the MissCambel (as the contest is affectionately called) will bring together contestants picked from a September 2012 pre-selection which also made headlines here in Belgium. Amongst them, one will be named the most beautiful Cameroonian lady living in Belgium and she would have gone into the annals as the pioneer in that category.

According to organizers, this lucky winner will have her pockets heavier with 2,000 Euro. She will be flown, free-of-charge to Cameroon and back amongst other delicious gifts. The first runner-up, Lovelyn Afong, the initiator of the contest had told us, will smile away with 1,000 Euro and other material gifts while the second runner-up shall be entitled to a 500 Euro cash prize.

As winners gladly retire to share the November 3 glories with family, friends and well wishers, they will be expected not to quickly forget the herculean task that awaits them – getting fully involved in the development of their country by initiating moves that go go a long way to alleviate poverty. “We are out to show the splendor of the Cameroonian woman and also use the occasion to designate the one who will be Cameroon’s ambassador of charm throughout the world and work against poverty,” Afong had told us some time ago.

Meantime, flyers, posters and other promotional gadgets for the event have been prominent in Belgium and neighbouring countries. Reports also say London’s big-time sound system provider, DJ Amour Scolaire is en route to town where he, artistes such as Princess Bridget, Ursula Pali and others will hold guess spellbound.
