There is a growing anxiety within the Cameroonian community in Germany as the annual event, Challenge Camerounaise approaches. Preparations have reached climax. Organizers have been putting bits and pieces together to give this year’s edition the colour it deserves. According to them, Challenge Camerounaise 2012 will be an event that has never happened before. “No one is sleeping out here, we are working non-stop to give it a one hundred percent rate success,” one of the behind-the-scene persons told TIPTOPSTARS. It is being said that Challenge Camerounaise 2012 will take an economic dimension with discussions on how to transport Cameroon’s economic potential to Germany. However, the crooks of the matter will still lie in the culture socio-cultural pudding, marked by entertainment events. According to CC (as the event is affectionately known) organizers, there will be open festivals and live music performances. There will be makossa, bitkutsi, assiko, bendskin aplenty, TIPTOPSTARS was told. Also, traditional dances depicting Cameroon’s diverse cultural background will grace CC 2012. The Challenge Camerounaise, is a highly reputed socio-cultural event that has grown over the years to take on a new economic twist. Initiated some 20 years ago, The Challenge Camerounaise began as a football competition between Cameroonian teams in three German cities. It has grown significantly to a crowd-pulling socio-cultural and business fair with over six thousand guests taking part in the event every year. It brings together Cameroonian students and graduates in Germany in a bid to seek avenues of giving back to their country from the diaspora.
