Trials of Passion is one of the most popular serials ever produced by English-speaking Cameroonians. The first part of the serial was projected on the then CTV in 1987, the early years of television in Cameroon. Trials of Passion II was produced in 2006 and projected on CRTV. Due to popular demand, the Victor Pungung serial is back on the CRTV airwaves, projected on Mondays and Saturdays at 10pm. Speaking recently at a gathering of English-speaking Cameroonian film makers, CRTV’s director of fiction, Christopher Selambi who directed the serial said the return of Trial of Passion is a move by the national television to promote Cameroonian productions. “CRTV will accept and project Cameroonian films that meet certain broadcast criteria,” Selambi reminded film makers who expressed the need to have their products beamed to Cameroonians. Trials of Passion stars renowned actors and actresses such as Henry Claude Ndengue, Yimbu Emmanuel, Solange Yijika and Chenepoh Cossono. |
