Samuel Eto’o Fils and Roger Milla, two of Africa’s (from Cameroon) most spectacular and popular footballers of all times are expected in Washington DC on July 28 to received honorary awards by the Cameroon Entertainment Awards, CEA. In a press release issued by the Executive Producers, both sports icons have been recognized by CEA for their priceless participation in colouring the image of Cameroon worldwide.
The press release describes how both players used their scoring abilities to take the national football team the Indomitable Lions to higher heights, both at the African Nations cup and World Cup.
The statement goes further to highlight Eto’o’s spectacular performance in European clubs over the years. Such performance earned him virtually all of the biggest football titles in that continent, including the famous Champions League which he won for Spanish club side Barcelone FC in 2006 and Italian club Inter Milan in 2010.
Away from football performance, Eto’o and Milla have been involved in humanitarian activities for quite some time now. According to the CEA press statement, Eto’o, through Foundation Eto’o and Milla, through Coeur d’Afrique, have demonstrated their love and concern for the less privilege. This according to the CEA executive Producers are efforts which must be recognized. The organization is therefore awarding the two specially come July 28 at the Cramton Auditorium, Howard University.
Meantime, other CEA honorees to be recognized are Angelle Kwemo, Legislative Counsel to US Congressman Bobby L. Rush, Dr David Makongo, legal expert and business promoter and Nganje Kinge Monono, UN staff.
