Cameroonian arts and culture enthusiasts who are promoting the entertainment industry from the southern region of Africa will no longer have their works shielded from their counterparts the world over. TIPTOPSTARS will henceforth trail them and send the signals to the rest of the world. This is thanks to the coming on board of our pioneer correspondent in that region. Solomon Wan-Atah, preferably known as Atah Atah is the man in charge. He will be covering and reporting showbiz-related stories from that end. For quite some time now, there has been an alarming absence of news on Cameroonian entertainment happenings in South Africa and little has been heard about the people manning them. Yet, there are scores of young Cameroonians doing great things in South Africa and its environs including filmmakers, musicians, writers, models, fashion designers, etc. Such silence from the Cameroonian media may breed the erroneous impression that nothing is happening there within the Cameroonian community. The coming of Atah Atah is therefore meant to break the silence and fill the gap. Living in South Africa for a decade now, Atah Atah is a film and TV trained young Cameroonian. As we write, he is involved in virtually all aspects of TV production - TV programmes development, format development and TV programmes production. He does all of these, yet finds time to practice print journalism. He is a writing enthusiast who has been a travel, fun and entertainment columnist for Eden Newspaper, one of the leading English language weeklies in Cameroon. Atah Atah who has worked in some 17 African countries also operates from the civil society. He runs an NGO known as Cameroon Land Of Promise that seeks to promote Cameroon in all aspects. The 1.76m-tall entertainment reporter, fondly called Karl has grown up as a motivational speaker and would readily raise the hopes of struggling folks through radio and other media. Perhaps his admiration for former South African president Thabo Mbeki, a visionary, is what makes our man on the beat a visionary person himself. Such vision is to see his country move to an enviable level in entertainment. A forthcoming event to pay tribute to his country will surely be a necessary ingredient to spice up this vision. The reporter himself will be TIPTOPSTARS’ eye at the said event. Atah Atah joins the teams just a couple of days after TIPTOPSTARS co-opted Titus Banyoh aka Batimu as correspondent from Belgium.Welcome on board Solo! |
