The film industry in Cameroon is one film richer. My Successor, a 52-episode serial sees the light of day later this month on CRTV. The premier for the serial is billed Friday 13 March 2009 at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. The launching will be chaired by the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Commonwealth Affairs, Joseph Dion Ngute, in the presence of some diplomats. CRTV's General Manager Amadou Vamoulke and some senior staff of the corporation will show up at the event to get a fore taste of what the State-run television will be dishing out to its audience in the coming days. According to officials of CRTV's Programme Service, the beginning later this month. Produced by Premier Films and CRTV, in collaboration with Saint Francis Entertainment, My Successor addresses succession in the African context, said to be a malady characterised by assault, connivance, blackmail, hatred, fear, gossip and even murder. The story, however, charts a way forward in the interest of peace and development within the African family. Shot on locations in Bamenda, Yaounde and Limbe, the Godwin Nganah serial pays tribute to the late Victor Pungong, founder of Premier Films and producer of Trials of Passion, also projected on CRTV some time ago. State television officials have confirmed it's going to be one of the most gigantic telefilm packages ever offered broadcaster intends to use My Successor to market its next programmes season, Cameroon. My Successor is directed by Asaba Ferdinand (Penda), starring Chinepoh Cosson, Tita Ernestine, Maureen Abia, Njoya Grace, Tume Balon, Yimbu Emmanuel, Vugar Samson, Chiatoh Collins, Iya Wase, Borno Evelyn, Victor Lembi, Renzia Tunishie, Yuh Solange and Marinus Fotoh. It also features Fri Louisa, Efeti Moka, Chi Anthony, Eusibom Eugene, Christian Tchaptchek, Yengo Yvonne, Ruthy Johnson and Blessing Peace. |
