This year’s National Arts and Culture Festival comes five years after the last which held in Bafoussam, West Region in 2003. Before Bafoussam, Ebolowa had hosted the festival in 1998. Artists of all sorts, coming from all over Cameroon are expected to display their know-how. However, movie exhibition and musical concerts are expected to thrill spectators more. The festival comes at a time the film industry in Cameroon is experiencing an enthusiastic evolution, with movies shot and released on a regular basis. The Cameroon Film Industry (CFI) has been allocated a stand by the Ministry of Culture and will be represented at the event by a delegation made up of prominent film makers. Diaspora musicians have been announced for Maroua, with Manu Dibango, prominent amongst them. |
