Nigerian movie star Emeka Ike has promised to assist Cameroon in her mission to construct a vibrant film industry. The Nollywood actor was speaking recently in Yaounde, during an audience granted him by the Minister of Culture Ama Tutu Muna. Emeka said he was ready to come in as co-producer of Cameroonian movies. "I'd be glad to share my experience in a bid to push the Cameroonian film industry ahead," he told the Cameroonian culture minister. To him, it was incumbent on Nigeria, whose film industry has reached an enviable stage, to accompany other countries in telling the African story in pure African fashion. Emeka further opted to take part in training workshops as a facilitator, if they were organised. To the Cameroonian Minister of Culture, Emeka's willingness to come on board was a sign of love between two friendly states, Cameroon and Nigeria. Ama Tutu urged Cameroonian film makers to collaborate with the Nigerians. She challenged them to write film projects that sell the good neighbourliness between both countries and organise more training workshops. "I'm ready to visa funding for such projects," she promised. Emeka Ike was paying a courtesy visit to the Minister of Culture upon his arrival in Cameroon, with two other colleagues, Tonto Dike and Joyce Kalu to feature in a Cameroonian movie.
