Cameroonian film maker Agbor Gilbert is back
from Lagos, alongside Nollywood star Jim Iyke to
Cameroon.
Agbor and Jim are off for Maroua where they are expected to take part in the
2008 National Festival of Arts and Culture, dubbed FENAC. The Nigerian movie
icon will be special guest at the event, on the invitation of Cameroon’s Minister
of Arts and Culture, Ama Tutu Muna. Jim Iyke was guest on “Hello”, CRTV’s
daybreak show today. Other Nollywood stars including Clarion Chukwurah,
Eucharia Anunobi and Rita Dominic are expected in Maroua for the festival. If
all goes as planned, Hollywood director, Spike Lee will also join Cameroonians
in celebrating their rich culture at FENAC.FENAC brings together artists from
all over Cameroon
to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage through music, craft, cinema,
fashion, cuisine, etc. The previous edition of the festival took place in
Bafoussam, headquarters of the West Region in 2003.
